On Friday 27th October, 12 members of the Justis team walked to raise money for the British Red Cross Society’s Hurricane Appeal, to contribute towards their relief effort throughout the Caribbean islands affected by Hurricanes Irma, Jose and Maria.
“I have known many good friends and colleagues from the Caribbean islands for many years, and alongside my colleagues at Justis have worked with law professionals throughout the region. In our relationship with our Caribbean counterparts we have experienced nothing less than professionalism, enthusiasm and warmth, and we are deeply affected by the pain and suffering that the people of the region are experiencing. I am confident that the brave people of the Caribbean, with the support that they need and deserve, will recover from these appalling events, and I urge everyone to contribute to supporting the recovery plans and activities in any way possible.” Masoud Gerami, Managing Director.
Starting from Putney Bridge at around 12pm, over the 5 hours that followed we crossed 16 of London’s bridges, passed a lot of iconic landmarks, and walked 25km along the way, ending on the other side of Tower Bridge. The sore legs and blisters were well worth it to raise money for such a worthwhile cause.
Your generosity has helped to get us a long way towards meeting our target, and there is still time to donate towards this worthwhile cause. Every pound donated up to the target amount by the end of November will be matched by Justis, so anything donated up to this amount will go twice as far in helping those suffering due to the devastation caused by the recent hurricanes.
