Inquest Law Reports
A comprehensive collection of cases relating to all aspects of inquest law, largely unreported elsewhereThe number of cases argued in the High Court involving inquest law has grown considerably since the commencement of the Human Rights Act 1998. This has been in response in particular to the need to ensure that there is a proper investigation into deaths where there may be fault on the part of some state official, which is required by Article 2 of the European Convention on Human Rights. However, cases relevant to the work of Coroner’s Courts remain reported in a number of disparate sources, if at all. Inquest Law Reports is the only publication which aims to collect all cases relevant to inquest law readily in one publication. The reports provide the full text of judgments from the High Court, Court of Appeal, House of Lords / the new Supreme Court and relevant judgments from the European Court of Human Rights on Article 2.
