J-Link Problems
The “J-Link button in the Document Actions panel is intended to link to the full text of a document when you click it after selecting (with your mouse) a publication reference within the document that is open on the Document screen. You will see an error message if you click “J-Link” without having selected a reference.
The “J-Link” works with most browsers, but unfortunately it does not work with all browsers on all platforms, notably Safari (Mac OS X). However, there is an alternative way to use J-Link that works with all browsers:
For Macintosh users:
- Select the publication reference by holding down the mouse button and dragging over the reference.
- Copy the reference with the Command+C key combination.
- Click the “Search” tab, and then either the Cases, Legislation or EU button (as appropriate to the reference).
- Click in one of the Citation text boxes on the Search In Cases screen, or in the Reference field on the Search In Legislation screen, or in the Reference field on the Search In EU screen.
- Paste the reference with the Command+V key combination.
- Click the “Search” button.
For Windows users:
- Select the publication reference by holding down the left mouse button and dragging over the reference.
- Copy the reference with the Control+C key combination.
- Paste the reference with the Control+V key combination.
- Click the “Search” button.
