Mental Health Law Reports – Introduction
The Mental Health Law Reports database on the Justis website contains the full text of the printed publication Mental Health Law Reports from 1999 to the present day. The database is updated whenever new reports are made available.
Mental Health Law Reports is a printed series of case reports, published by Southside Legal Publishing Limited. It includes the full text of cases from the High Court, the Court of Appeal and the House of Lords relating to mental health law, together with a summary and, where appropriate, a commentary. Cases from the European Court of Human Rights are also covered, amounting to approximately 30 cases per year, of which around 75% are not reported elsewhere.
The editor of the Reports, Kris Gledhill, is a barrister specialising in Human Rights cases. He has a particular interest in the application of European Human Rights legislation in the UK courts. The Editorial Consultant, Dave Sheppard, is Director of the Institute of Mental Health Law.
