Prison Law Reports – Introduction

The Prison Law Reports database on the Justis website contains the full text of the printed publication Prison Law Reports from 1999 to the present day. The database is updated whenever new reports are made available.

Prison Law Reports is a printed series of case reports, published by Southside Legal Publishing Limited. It includes the full text of cases from the High Court, the Court of Appeal and the House of Lords relating to prison law, together with a summary and, where appropriate, a commentary. Cases from the European Court of Human Rights are also covered, amounting to approximately 80 cases per year, of which around 75% are not reported elsewhere.

The editors of the Reports, Kris Gledhill and Flo Krause, are barristers specialising in Human Rights cases. They have a particular interest in the application of European Human Rights legislation in the UK courts.
