Q – Does Justis Parliament contain full text?A – Justis Parliament does not contain the full text of documents except for answers to questions and Early Day Motions Q – How can I link to the full text of Hansard?A – If the full text is available in Hansard, you will be able to link to it directly from the document by clicking on the "Click here for the full text" link. Q – How do I sign in to Justis Parliament?A – You need to be registered before you log in, then you can enter your ID and Password on the Justis.com homepage. To register see our guide to personal user IDs. Q – How do I track a piece of legislation?A – Select Parliament from the Search In section of the Search screen. Then select ‘Tracking Legislation’ from the Preset list on the right hand side of the screen. This will give you a specific set of relevant search fields. You can search for any documents relating to a particular bill or bills by typing the name in the Legislation field or the topic into the ‘Full Text’ field. This searches over oral debates, parliamentary questions and papers and will link to the full text of the bill itself, if it is available. Q – How do I find a particular publication?A – Select Parliament from the Search In section of the Search screen. Then select ‘Publications’ from the Preset list on the right hand side of the screen. This will give you a specific set of relevant search fields. Click on the ‘View the list of searchable types’ link above the ‘Type’ field to see the different kinds of publications you can search over. Alternatively you can type in a department in the ‘Department’ field to track down all publications generated or answered by a particular department. If you know the title of the publication but would like to know who published it, please type the name of the publication in the ‘Full Text’ field. Q – Where are the old Parlianet 'Search Wizards' on Justis Parliament?A – Select Parliament from the Search In section of the default Search screen. Then select the area you wish to search over from the Preset list on the right hand side of the screen. This will give you a specific set of relevant search fields, exactly like the Search Wizards did on Parlianet. Q – Why do some fields disappear when I select a Preset option?A – Not all of the fields are relevant to the different types of search we have set up in the Presets list. For the full list of all searchable fields select ‘Default’ from the list of Presets and then click ‘Customise’ in the bottom left of the screen. You can then save your new collection of fields. |
