After recent events, which started in Minnesota with the death of George Floyd on May 25th, we at vLex Justis want to share our support for the Black Lives Matter movement.

In this update, we share a message that our Managing Director, Masoud Gerami, shared with all members of staff, provide important links to those who want to do more to support this vital cause, and offer free resources to those who may need them during this trying time.

Free access for those who need it the most…

To support those who are fighting for this vital cause, we are offering free access to our entire US law collection of primary materials, including court cases, statutes, regulations and constitutional content, for individuals and organisations who need access to the law now more than ever.

A message from our Managing Director to our staff…

We have all been horrified and appalled by the recent events in the U.S., and it never ceases to amaze me as to why we see the repeat of such disgusting acts over and over.  And what is more depressing is that we know the video clip showing the latest incident is only a very small example of a colossal problem.  As bad as the problems are in various parts of the U.S., these discriminations and atrocities are not limited to that part of the world.  We see it in this country too, and as a society we should be ashamed.

The basic rights, privileges, opportunities and the respect that all human beings deserve regardless of race and colour should be a given, and not something you should fight for.  Most of us cannot claim to know and feel the depth of such problems, but we must make sure that what we are witnessing is not just another news story.   The least we can do is to support each other, and perhaps more than ever emphasise our love and respect for those around us.

We are proud of our history at vLex Justis, always embracing and welcoming different races, cultures and backgrounds.  This will never change, and we are ready to offer our support in any way we can.  The welfare, wellbeing and happiness of every single one of you is one of my highest priorities, and I just wish that the circumstances could have been different and I could put my arms around each of you and promise you that you work in an environment where you can feel respected and valued for your qualities and not your colour, age, gender or sexual orientation.

As always, I am available to listen to what you are going through and what you would like to share, and to see if there is anything that I or the company can do to help.

Masoud Gerami, Managing Director, vLex Justis
